Probably the majority of Christians know about the word Sabbath is. For most Christian groups identified the term Sabbath with the Jews or Israel. "Remember the Sabbath Day Sanctify" is a statement in one section of The Ten Commandments. Precisely is the fourth Law of The Ten Commandments. In detail, the fourth law reads as follows:
20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
(Exodus 20:8-11)
We know that Nine Law in Ten Commandments there is no beginning with the word "Remember". This means that Nine's Law in the Ten Commandments can be run normally by human beings created by God. But in the fourth law is intentionally stated "Remember". It was intended because it is very important for people who basically forgetful intentionally or unintentionally.
What should people "remember"?
1. The Israelites were the first to get the Ten Commandments, it is very appropriate as the chosen nation, the first reason is because it is they who receive the Ten Commandments through Moses on Mount Sinai. God really knows this nation who likes to act grouchy and easy fight. Although the presence of God every time they see and feel, but still it does not affect most of the character of this nation. Miracles and blessings they have received and seen, is not a guarantee of their loyalty to God one hundred percent. Only a few people who run the Ten Commandments faithfully and honestly and correctly. This is one reason the fourth commandment of the Ten Commandments begins with the word "Remember".When God gave the Sabbath Day, HE knows that the values of the Sabbath was very high and also Allah knows that it will not / less respected in the future by many people. God knew that Satan will try his best to lead people at a specific time for neglect of duty binding on the Sabbath. It also is the reason why the Fourth Commandment of the Ten Commandments begins with the word "Remember", so people always remember and store in the heart of this Fourth Commandment.
2. "Remember" is also thought everyone returns to the beginning of the creation of this world. In the Fourth Commandment of the Ten Commandments, God reminds man that accidentally look and implement it the truth about the Sabbath. Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy clearly and there is no metaphorical sense, that the Sabbath is holy and his holiness must always be remembered and preserved. Thus, it is reasonable and necessary for God to emphasize the fourth commandment is the word Remember at the beginning of this command.God has confirmed that at the beginning of the creation of the world, from the first day until the sixth day of creation of this world, it is said clearly "God saw that all was well." (Genesis 1:10,25). Even in Genesis 1:31 to say all of His creation "very good indeed". But on the seventh day, God created the Sabbath, a special day of the blessed, sanctified and to rest. For the Jews, no longer need to be taught the meaning of the Sabbath to them. All that there is a relationship with the word Sabbath, it is known and is run by them, including service and maintenance procedures for the holy day. But for people living today, not all agree even consider ordinary Sabbath was like the other six days.
SabbathAnalysis of the Bible we need to know, so that the proper conclusion we really will get this connection with the Sabbath and holiness.a. Genesis 2:1-3 says that for six days, God created the heavens and the earth and all its contents, then quit on the seventh day and also bless and sanctify it. The fourth commandment in the Ten Commandments reads as follows: "Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy." Then proceed again ... Six days you shall labor and do all your work; But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God "(Gen. 20:8-10). So clearly these two books of the Old Testament says that the seventh day is the Sabbath holy by God Himself as the Creator.b. In the New Testament also affirms the Sabbath was as follows:Jesus said: "2:27 Then Jesus said to them: "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath,2:28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27,28).
The purpose of this paragraph is that any man ever born in this world are obliged to maintain and keep it holy. Not just for Adam and Eve or the nation of Israel / Jews only, but for all nations and people.
We humans considering the merit of Christ / God in creating man for six days with the worship and the sanctification of the seventh day or Sabbath, because Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Because Jesus Himself who created the world and everything in it (Jn 1:3), He isChrist is the Lord of the Sabbath, therefore, a model done in this world is devotion and worship God each Sabbath day. That's obligations when together with the people on earth (Luke 4:16).
When Jesus died on the cross and was buried, along the Sabbath he was not raised, but it rested on the Sabbath. He will not fight the fourth commandment that God made the Sabbath holy. If only the Seventh Day Sabbath is not a saint, surely he would rise on that day. Therefore, He rose on the first day of the week.
The Apostles also followed the example given in the maintenance of hereditary and sanctify the Sabbath day. They also serve and sanctify the Sabbath day. (Acts 13:14,42; 16:13; 18:3,4 NIV)
c. The Sabbath is a holy day that should and we must purify if we really want to confess Jesus as Lord. Sabbath is also not just apply in this world, but forever in the new world. Isaiah 66:22,23 says as follows: "
66:22 For as the new heavens and new earth that will make it, remain before Me, saith the LORD, so your descendants and your name remain.66:23 Moon turned into months, and changed the Sabbath Sabbath, all mankind will come to worship before Me, saith the LORD
ConclusionLet us "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy." Since it arrived in the kingdom of heaven, even forever. How do we get to heaven if you do not remember and get used to worship and sanctify the Sabbath.
